I've worked in sales and marketing for the last 15 years, so travel is part of the job. Back in 2014, I got really sick and nobody could figure out why. Every doctor I saw would just refer me away or tell me I have anxiety. Nobody had the time. I needed help, and so I found my own wellness journey and began looking for doctors and practitioners who actually listened and thought more holistically.
My massage therapist told me about direct primary care and Dr. Steve, so I gave it a shot and joined. One day, I threw out my back. I literally could not get out of bed. I texted my DPC doctor and a few hours later, he did a video assessment and got me a prescription and into PT. He did all the legwork for me to figure out who took my insurance and he made sure the location worked for me. He followed up and got me in to do an MRI later that that week, even during the pandemic. Dr. Steve took the time and found what fit for me. If I had a normal PCP, I would have been in trouble because it's so hard to get an appointment.
When you're in the main system, you're just waiting around for a phone call. I needed a cardiology appointment once, and my DPC doctor proactively followed up with me before setting up the appointment and after to make sure the timing fit with my schedule. Direct primary care is so worth it for me! The ease, the access, the time, the holistic nature - everything about it. Now I tell everybody about it. My father also uses DPC too.
