As my mom got older, she needed a real partner in her health. She had emphysema, COPD, and a few other chronic conditions. Dr. Mancini was always there for us. She really took care of her. Because of direct primary care, Dr. Mancini would actually spend time to really help her - whether it was an unrushed office visit, a quick phone call or text, or even a home visit.
The best thing about direct primary care is you really don't need to go to multiple doctors all the time when you have 1 dedicated doctor who knows you well. My DPC doctor is so comprehensive. I'm not just a number to her either. I have insurance, and when I see those doctors, I'm in and out the door in a few minutes. DPC is worth its weight in gold.
Growing up, we used to have a family physician who would see all of us - our family, our friends, everybody in the neighborhood. Dr. Mancini reminds me of that. It's what health care should be: a doctor who cares, can spend time with you, check up on you, and just make sure everybody is healthy. She's part of the family, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Ruthie and her whole family sees a direct primary care physician because of the incredible care and value. DPC especially helped her mom as she got older and needed help navigating several medical conditions.
